Here in H-Town, we’re zoneless, errr we don’t have zoning. Folks build wherever or whatever they want – sorta. In today’s Chron, there is a story about some developers wanting to build a high rise right next to one of H-Town’s fanciest neighborhoods. The neighborhood isn’t too happy. The developers say they have every right to build. They are kind of right. H-Town’s Mayor is going to fight them. This ought to be a good fight that is worth watching. Stay tuned.
I don’t think we ought to be making a big deal about Guv Dude’s new part-time crib. He’s the Guv and he has to live somewhere. I just don’t think we score points talking about where he lives or how much he pays in rent. After all, he is the Guv.
Cancelled! It turns out the local YD deal with the wannabee Dem candidate that votes in GOP Primaries isn’t going to happen after all. Sorry pals.
Tomorrow is our last opportunity to see a future Hall of Famer and one of the greatest to ever play the game – Craig Biggio. He ranks #5 in career doubles (666) behind Tris Speaker, Pete Rose, Ty Cobb, and Stan Musial – wow! He’s #13 all time in at-bats (10,864) - #12 is a guy named Willie Mays – wow! It ought to be a memorable weekend at The Yard.
Senor Ed and Senor Ed won’t be taking part in the B-G-O Festival at The Yard this weekend. They are sold out. I wonder if they’ll have the roof open.
I think I’ll talk to Pam-In-Charge and suggest that next season they put together an exhibit at The Yard of B-G-O gear and list his career accomplishments – hey, they can call it Craig’s List……awwww!
