Six Weeks and a Day

Thatís how much time until E-Day here in H-Town and James Rodriguez, candidate for Houston City Council, District I, had his campaign headquarters opening yesterday and a whole lot of folks showed up Ė thatís a real good thing. James and The Lovely Wendy were great hosts. As most folks know, the race got interesting Friday afternoon and thatís all Iím going to say about things. Okay, Iíll say this Ė talk about being knocked off of message.

FYI Ė today is National Punctuation Day Ė period!

Commentary goofed on Friday. Itís Controller not Comptroller Ė sorry.

Commentary didnít check out the PBS WW II program last night because Iím protesting. Plus the documentary fella kind of got smug and arrogant when asked about leaving out Latinos. Whatís wrong with admitting he put together an incomplete documentary? He acts like the Latinos that gave their lives on the battlefield are a quota...tsk, tsk, tsk.

In case you havenít noticed, the Chron has a new conservative guest columnist. Heís local. Commentary met him the other night. I wonder if they will get a liberal guest columnist. Commentaryís available.

Commentary checked out ďThe Brave OneĒ this past weekend. Jodie Foster is good and donít need touching up. Check it out.

Marcel Marceau is no longer with us and I canít say anything else about this.

The ĎStros were on national TV last night and it was not good. New GM Ed Wade got a good look at Brad Lidge blow another one in the bottom of the 9th. The only good thing about last night was B-G-O getting a standing ovation from the St. Louis fans Ė the best baseball fans in the world. The only other good thing was Numero 45 getting dinger #31 and RBI # 115. Itís shaping up to be a memorable weekend at The Yard Ė yikes!
