PBS’ Lame Shame, Da Poll, Da Yard

The U.S. Latino & Latina WWII Oral History Project at the University of Texas at Austin has been around since 1999. Commentary’s Dad is one of the WWII vets that participated in the project. It is a great resource. The documentary guy that has put together the WWII show for PBS says that Latinos never came forward to tell their stories and that’s why Latinos are not featured. Huh! Now that’s a pretty lame excuse. You have to question his research ability….tsk, tsk, tsk. He got lazy on this one. It’s a real shame that PBS is allowing Latinos and Latinos to get dissed by the fella. He struck out on this one, that’s for sure.

In a preview of 2010, according to a recent poll, Da Bell leads the pack in the Dem Party race for Texas Governor. Da Bell is staying involved and handing out weekly takes on issues. Heck, he’s a huge supporter of James Rodriguez, candidate for Houston City Council, District I.

My old buddy, Ed Martin from Austin, the former ED of the Texas Democratic Party, was sitting with Drayton at The Yard last night, in case you missed it. Ed and local Dem Rep Garnet had their mugs on the tube last night. Knowing Ed, he probably gave Drayton his takes on the search for a general manager.

Tina Garcia and Michael Bravo made the kiss kam last night. Tina is the daughter of one James’ key supporters.

Speaking of, The Lovely Wendy sent me the wedding pics via email – they came with a soundtrack. It was pretty cool. I wonder if The Lovely Wendy would mind if I put them on my website – not really.

Speaking of, according to the Chron’s Jesus, the ‘Stros are close to naming a new GM. In today’s Chron, Jesus says that Pam-In-Charge is in on the GM meetings – I didn’t know that.

After Commentary complained, they put Hunter Pence back in the line-up and he ended up pulling Lidge’s arse out of the fire.

OK, you were warned about B-G-O. It looks like the final weekend will be a sellout. I told you so.
