No Errors. The Queen of Mean? Cecil Puede?

There is a difference between the McCain and W efforts. There is no way in h_ll that W’s team would have let hecklers disrupt his acceptance speeches. Give McCain credit for his comeback lines on the hecklers – “ground noise and static.”

Of course, the bar was set low for McCain. He just had to stay awake during his own acceptance speech. He did OK especially when he talked about his POW experience – he scored a few points there.

Go figure – according to the Nielsen Media Research, over 40 mil U.S. Americans watched Governor Palin Wednesday as compared to 38 mil watched Obama last week, as compared to 24 mil watched Biden last week.

In today’s Chron Star section there is a piece comparing the convention speeches of Governor Palin and Ann Richards. Check it out. The thought of comparing the two is for sure to p_ss off some Lone Star State Dems.

A Washington D.C. publication released one of those Best and Worst and Least whatever surveys on members of Congress and awarded the Queen of Mean to Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. The Chron’s Columnist has a piece on it today. Check it out. This isn’t the first time something like this has been written about Jackson Lee. The pieces always include an unnamed staffer ratting her out. Commentary knows some of her former staffers. I’d like to know who the rats are.

Cecil puede! You got to hand it to ‘Stros Skipper Cecil Cooper for having the team at 8 over .500 with Numero 45 on the DL and Matsui hurting. Now for the bad news – sort of – the Chron’s Sport section has a piece today on the ‘Stros starting to contend with 22 games left. Check it out. Commentary doesn’t want to see a piece like this yet because I’m afraid it might jinx us. Let’s see if we can make a Rocky Mountain run this weekend as we’re still eleven back!
