No knockout punches. No memorable lines. No gaffes. No embarrassing facial expressions. Cheney and Edwards both performed as expected. However, to use little league baseball jargon, the tie goes to the runner - in this case Edwards.
The Saddam-9/11 connection drew some fire last night. Cheney said last night that he has never "suggested" that there has been a connection between Iraq and 9/11. After the debate, NBC News trotted out a clip from a Cheney interview on Meet The Press last year where Cheney says there was a connection. This morning, Hardball’s Chris Mathews went after Cheney's credibility on the issue.
Edwards on the other hand didn't leave the media much to chew on.
