Nicky’s Stinking Mexicans! Same ‘Ol, ’07, Oz

When in doubt, you can always kick a Mexican.  According to the Chron/Channel 11 poll, Nicky might not pull it off and Commentary could be dead wrong – it wouldn't be the first time I ate crow.  So Nicky has to stoop and play the Latino bashing card.  Hey maybe the Mini Men are going to push cards for him at the CD 22 polls.  He didn't need to do this.  I guess he thinks Latino voters are too dumb to know the difference.  Here's the text of Lampson's TV ad Commentary has titled “We Don't Need No Stinking Mexicans!”

“I’m Nick Lampson and I approved this message.”
What do we really know about Shelley Sekula-Gibbs? On the City Council she was against requiring proof of citizenship before receiving social services. Sekula-Gibbs strongly supported giving sanctuary to illegal aliens stopped by local police. She even supported catch-and-release policies putting illegal aliens who committed crimes back on the street. Nick Lampson for Congress. Endorsed by police and the NRA.

Plus Nicky is sending out similar mail pieces.  Nicky is dead wrong on this.  He doesn't even have his facts right about the City of Houston policy and paperless folks.

Nicky doesn't represent the Dem Party that I want.  When candidates like Nicky try to run as Rs, well, we all know what happens.  I think Nicky's campaign just pulled a slime job on CD 22 Dems.  Putting a Latino notch on a political consultant's gun handle doesn't cut it with folks like Commentary.  Tsk, tsk, tsk.

The Chron ran a piece Friday about Latinos in South Texas not being too excited about the statewide races.  The Chron's poll also has Guv Dude leading among Latino voters.

When it is all said and done, Da Bell will win Latino voters, however, I can understand why there is a lack of interest among Latinos.  Commentary doesn't want to sound like a broken record, but I will.  When is the Dem Party going to figure out that you have to expend resources in the Latino community to get us to the polls?  You can only get so much out of a minimal, errr nonexistent investment pals.  You kind of get the feeling that Dems – everywhere but Texas – get it in terms of how to deal with Latino voters. So what else is new?

Need I say more about Vince and the Texans?  Maybe HEB needs to put Vince in the commercial with The Rocket and Pettitte.

Well, former Astros Preston Wilson and Jose Vizcaino picked up World Serious rings this past weekend as members of the Cardinals.  I look at it this way.  The Cards lost in '04 versus Red Sox, ‘Stros lost in 05 versus White Sox, Cards won in '06 versus Tigers, ‘Stros will win in '07 versus the Yankees - it's a trend – you heard it first on Daily Commentary – get your tickets and BE THERE for our “Oh Thank Heaven for '07 World Serious Run” year!

“You billowing bale of bovine fodder.”  “Hearts will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable.” “Victim of disorganized thinking.”   All are lines said by the Wizard of Oz about The Scarecrow, The Tin Man, and The Cowardly Lion. Commentary's third favorite movie of all time, “The Wizard of Oz”, first premiered on television 50 years ago this Friday (11/3).  Billie Burke, who plays Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, was 54 years young when she made the movie – wow!  I wonder if there ever was a Mr. Good Witch?
