Props go to Al Gore for winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Let’s just hope he doesn’t get this one snatched away. I’m gonna be real pi__ed off if in 20 years it shows up in W’s library – that’s all I’m going to say about this.
Quien es mas macho? Three local African American electeds came out in support of the Houston Independent School District (HISD) school bonds yesterday. In today’s Chron, State Rep Sly has an Op-Ed making his case against. It will be interesting to see which African American leaders will be the more persuasive and influential within the African American community. Meanwhile, in today’s Chron, the local GOP will be putting together a committee to study the bonds. I’m betting the GOP won’t come to the rescue of the bonds.
Also in today’s Chron, there is an article on three Houston City Council candidates that have had problems with the law. James Rodriguez’ opponent is included in the bunch. Check it out.
During last night’s Rockies-D’Backs game, D’Back fans tossed water bottles on to the field because of an ump’s call. I hope MLB picked up the bottles and lifted finger prints off of them and make some arrests. Come on, this is a baseball game, not a soccer match!
Carol Alvarado’s Kick-Off Birthday celebration invitation got some good run in today’s Chron plus a whole lot of folks let us know that they liked it. Hey, she’s a good sport about these things. I wish other folks in the business had her sense of humor.
