DAILY COMMENTARY

Observations

In 2002, the HISD Bonds won voter approval by a 2 to 1 margin – pretty impressive. Commentary worked on that campaign. African American precincts led the way for the HISD Bond victory. Precinct 259, Pleasantville, voted 81% in favor. Precinct 285 in Southeast H-Town voted 75% in favor. Precinct 156, in the MacGregor Park area voted 78% in favor. Most of the first team of the H-Town African American leadership is working against the bonds this year. Is this kind of like the New England Patriots taking the field without Tom Brady? We’ll see soon enough.

Tie goes to the runner. Commentary is betting that if the jury is hung on the Priscilla Slade trial, there won’t be another trial. Why? Hey, we’re fixing to get into election year mode – why pi__off folks?

Regulation, regulation. The burg of Boerne, Texas wants to license panhandlers at a rate of $115 per year. I’m having a hard time figuring this one out.

The MLB playoffs resume this evening. That’s a real good thing. Again, I won’t take sides. Let’s play ball!
