Post Cards from AAMA, Trials Read DC, Cold Showers, Feed Me, "The Departed", MLB

Houston's Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans (AAMA) is one of America's top Latino non-profits according to a national Latino publication. AAMA had their annual gala this past Friday night and like the Houston Hispanic Chamber gala three weeks ago, a lot of cool folks attended.

Edgar, Gilbert M., Dr. Laura, Ken from HISD, Sylvia C., The Shell couple, Terry M., Sweet Marisa, The Young Gun and The Lovely Wendy, and Laura and Rick Jaramillo, among others were there.

It's interesting, Rick gave a real good invocation at the Hispanic Chamber gala and Laura gave an impressive and very articulate speech at the AAMA event. Laura is the AAMA Board Chair. They are an attractive couple that is definitely on the go in the Latino community. Pretty cool!

Also interesting, one of the themes because it was on the podium - "AAMA: inspiring Latinos though education." However, during his speech, AAMA honcho Gilbert M. used the term "Hispanics." We got to get right on just using "Latino."

Commentary was the guest of My Brown Eyed Girl and Rosi from the Astros and her Jorge. It was a real nice event.

Looks like The Trials read Daily Commentary. Some of The Trials are now going to put some serious $$$$$$$ into Da Bell's campaign. Good, it's not too late!

Also looks like the "disgust factor' is going to help out the Dems this year. Thank you, GOPredators and Denny Boy for providing the America public with more sordid xxx rated stories that apparently go back a number of years. You guys need to go take some very, very, very cold showers - yikes!

We walked by some homeless fellas the other evening and we heard one of them say he was going out to a street corner with a sign that read - "Bill White says feed me" - ouch!

We checked out Scorsese's "The Departed" yesterday. It's a powerful film, see it! Leonardo DiCaprio's performance is Oscar worthy. He and co-star Jack Nicholson will probably get Best Actor nominations. Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Alec Baldwin and Martin Sheen are great. Check out Vera Farmiga - don't be surprised if she gets a Best Supporting nomination. "The Departed" keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Commentary can't decide who to root for: Tigers, As, Mets or Cards! I think I'll just root for exciting baseball that goes seven games in each League Championship Series.
