Bonds for Breakfast

State Rep Sly is hosting an anti Houston Independent School District (HISD) bonds breakfast this Friday – yikes! It looks like they are getting real organized to defeat this measure. In previous HISD bond campaigns, the opposition was the usual anti school cwazies. This does not appear to be the case this time. The 2007 opposition is very, very credible. Rep Sly, Rev. Lawson, the NAACP, CM Brown to name a few.

Commentary wasn’t invited to the current HISD bond party – hey, maybe I didn’t give them my change of address. More than likely, they probably bought into the argument that I’m radioactive – my arse! Hey, that’s OK! I have more time to devote to James Rodriguez, candidate for Houston City Council, District I, plus I get to have my tube turned on to the MLB playoffs which start this afternoon.

I wonder if Rep Sly is going to serve red meat or the usual school cafeteria stuff – oh, no!

Commentary went by The Yard again last night and nothing was going on. Well, at least James Rodriguez’ signs are still up.

Speaking of, the New York Knicks’ coach and The Garden got their arses handed to them yesterday by a jury on sexual harassment – that’s probably a good thing.

Hey, the ATL said adios to center fielder Andruw Jones. He had a bad year. He’s only 30 years. I don’t know about you, but I wonder how he would look in brick red – just a thought. Lee, Jones and Pence in the outfield – like I said, just a thought.
