Smart Vatos? Redneck Branch, Whistling Dixie, The Name Game

You got to hand it to the GOP, they now know they got to go make things right with Latinos so they put U.S. Senator Mel Martinez (R-Florida) in charge of their Party’s national apparatus.  Martinez, who isn’t like some of his rabid anti-Latino colleagues on the paperless folk issue, is going to “reach out” to Latinos.  Commentary has to hand it to the GOP for making this move.   Now let’s see if Texas Dem Party leaders finally start making major outreach efforts with Latinos here in Texas.  It looks like Commentary will have to take the lead in my own Harris County.

Speaking of paperless folks, props go to the Redneck Branch apartment owners for calling out ‘Neck officials on their paperless folk crackdown.  I wonder when they will ban Mexican food restaurants.

Speaking of ‘necks, what’s up with the GOP U.S. Senators considering selecting the Prez of The Strom Thurmond Fan club to their Whip position?  I wonder who the Texas Senators will support.  I wonder if any of the D.C. bureau writers for the Texas dailies will bother to ask the Texas Senators who they will support.  I think Texans need to know if their Senators will be humming the “I Wish I Was In Dixie” tune.

Remember when she was just Dr. Shelley Sekula?  Then she ran as Dr. Shelley Sekula-Rodriguez.  Then she ran again as Council Member Dr. Shelley Sekula-Gibbs.  Now she is Congresswoman Dr. Shelley Sekula-Gibbs.  Soon she will be Former Congresswoman Dr. Shelley Sekula-Gibbs.  Then how come in today’s Chron her son is named Michael Greenberg – HUH?  Commentary is betting when she runs again it will be as “Former Congresswoman and Council Member Dr. Shelley-Sekula-Gibbs-Rodriguez-Greenberg-Khan-Jackson Lee-Biggio-Reagan, Jr.   She’ll have all her bases covered – I’m taking bets.

FYI:  Check out Commentary’s website.  We’re looking for a campaign operative for a soon to be campaign.
