Observations

If there are recounts in Virginia and/or Montana, let’s make sure the Dems don’t send in anyone to help out who was involved in the Florida ’00 recounts.

The dumbest remark of the evening last night went to soon to be former GOP U.S. Senator Bill Frist from Tennessee who said about the Tennessee senate race – “race wasn’t an issue in Tennessee” – yeah, sure.

Good riddance to Martha Wong, The Kinkhole, Lady Foghorn, DeLay, Rick Santorum, Macaca Allen, Asa Hutchison, and Talmadge Heflin – again.

Guv Dude got less than 40% of the vote.   Maybe he’ll ratchet down his arrogance and cockiness.

Guv Dude also got a good chunk of the Latino vote – there are no excuses for this – but it was expected.   This is the same old story about the Dem Party ignoring the state’s Latino vote.   Imagine what would happen if we had a genuine Democratic Party Latino strategy in place?

Commentary is now ready to start talking to potential judicial candidates for the 2008 general election in Harris County.  I think Dems are now poised to start winning back the local judiciary.

Now that Houston City Council Member Shelley Sekula-Gibbs has won the special but not the general, will she take the oath of office, serve for two months, and stick the tax payers for a $2 million special election?  Stay tuned!

Speaking of the Houston City Council, The Young Gun, errr James Rodriguez, was out at the polls yesterday picking up support and looking like a candidate in his bid for District I – the race is on!
