According to a poll that was released yesterday, 7 out of every 10 Americans surveyed said it was wrong for Congress to intervene in the Terri Schiavo matter. 6 out of every 10 agreed with the Florida judge's ruling to remove her feeding tube. So why did U.S. Senate Democrats roll over during the debate?
We'll tell you why. They are trying to be low cal GOPers, Republican Lite, when it comes to the so called morality issues. When Howard Dean was running for Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Delaware Senator Joe Biden said that Dems in Congress, not Dean and the DNC, would set policy for the Party. Hey Joe, that's not the policy or rather lack of policy, Dems are looking for. Stop acting like Elmer Fudd and start standing up for the Florida judicial system. Senate Dems need to be sent to the blackboard and write 1000 times - "We won't beat the Repubs, if we run like Repubs".
It is pretty sad. America was looking for leadership on this issue, and the Senate Dems folded.
Back to the statues. Commentary was informed yesterday that Michael Jordan has a statue (United Center), so does Willie Mays (SBC Park) - and they are alive.
The 'Roid Hearings. Why didn't the former and current pro baseball players respond to committee members by saying - "When W was running for president, he didn't have to answer questions about past drug use, so we won't either."
