DAILY COMMENTARY

Miya Shay’s Day

Never underestimate the power of Daily Commentary. Within a few hours of letting folks know about Channel 13 reporter Miya Shay’s blog with W yakking away, news outlets throughout the world picked up the story. It is on today’s front pages and leading off the newscasts of the network morning news shows. It would not surprise Commentary if Miya got snatched up by the networks so she can take her skills to the international stage. I’m sure Miya will be getting a lot of high fives tonight at The Roundtable. Way to go Miya! Miya Shay don’t need touching up.

The Lone Star State Ag Commissioner says we are getting ripped off at Sunmart gas stations. Sunmart has apparently rigged the pump gizmos to shortchange filler uppers. Commentary doesn’t fill up at Sunmart but I sure would like the Ag Commissioner and the media to give us the names of the Sunmart owners so they can be shamed in public.

Oops! There is a piece in today’s Chron about the former GOP Harris County DA not turning in his dreaded Campaign and Expenditure report last week. Which of the following is true?

1. The former GOP Harris County DA stopped reading Commentary because he would have known that the dreaded Campaign and Expenditure Reports were due last Tuesday.

2. The former GOP Harris County DA still thinks he is above the law and doesn’t have to turn in the dreaded Campaign and Expenditure reports that were due last Tuesday.

3. The former GOP Harris County DA is a dumba__ and didn’t know he still has to turn in the dreaded Campaign and Expenditure reports that were due last Tuesday.

The ‘Stros’ favorite Chron columnist blasts the team today for making a trade for a pitcher – huh! He says our season is “lost.” First of all, you don’t have to be a Chron columnist to know we need pitching - period. Second of all, there are a lot of us that are still going out to The Yard to pay seven bucks plus for a St. Arnold with hope that it ain’t “lost” and that we might turn things around.

Let’s see – we got us a Caballo, a Big Puma and now a Lobo – cool. Of course, the best thing that happened last night was Commentary snagging my sixth foul ball of the season with my lid and we’re still twelve out – ouch!
