Whew! The U.S. of A. has only one day left of W. No more front page coverage of W or 41 or 41’s Wife or Jebbie or The Twins or W’s Wife or any of them. Commentary is tired of hearing about who jumped out of a plane and who went to Crawford. Cool is now in and strateegery is out.

Speaking of cool, Tiger showed up and spoke at the pre inaugural festivities yesterday.

Speaking of, Commentary and My Brown Eyed Girl checked out “Frost Nixon” yesterday. It is a great political flick that the Obamas ought to check out at the White House movie theater this weekend.

The Chron’s Columnist finally got around to reading Commentary. He finally got around to saying that we have us an H-Town Mayoral campaign with more than one good candidate. Check it out. City Controller Annise Parker got some good run along with former City Attorney Gene Locke. H-Town Council Member Peter Brown got dissed in the column. The Columnist thinks Peter is outside of the “majority mainstream” and will only get votes in Montrose and The Heights. Commentary hangs out in The Heights and it is news to me that I’m not part of H-Town’s “majority mainstream” – oh well.

H-Town is probably the only major city in the U.S. of A. that has two MLK Day parades today. Go figure.

The Houston Area Latino Summit is taking shape. A tentative agenda has now been posted. Latinos/Latinas are registering. The moderators are set. Most of the presenters are confirmed. Sponsors are signing on. Go to www.camposcommunications.com for information on the Houston Area Latino Summit that will be held from 10 am to 1 pm, Saturday, February 14, 2009 in the Champions Pavilion at Minute Maid Park.

Somebody forgot to tell H-Town’s Texans that our economy is in the ditch. Unlike the ‘Stros, the Texans are raising ticket prices for next season. If Drayton had raised ticket prices he would have been skewered by the local media. The Texans’ owner gets a pass and that’s all I have from The Yard.
