The Summit And Goofy

As expected, some Latino folks are questioning the Houston Area Latino Summit that is being organized. Some are questioning the motivation for organizing the Summit. I guess they think this great idea is too good to be true. Commentary thinks this should have been done a long time ago. The response has been extremely positive and folks are making suggestions and recommendations. Go to www.camposcommunications.com for information on the Houston Area Latino Summit that will be held from 10 am to 1 pm, Saturday, February 14, 2009 in the Champions Pavilion at Minute Maid Park. A tentative agenda will be posted by the end of this week so stay tuned.

As also expected, H-Town Council Member James Rodriguez got a lot of feedback on his Op-Ed that appeared in yesterday’s Chron. Some goofy liberal online mouth wondered whether James could be trusted – huh! Hey, if The Lovely Wendy says he can be trusted then that’s good enough for me. I guess this mouth also got all worked up over that Chron photo of James with the umbrella (you can see it on the front page of www.camposcommunicatons.com). I’m just glad that the Chron photographer’s favorite movie was “Singin’ In The Rain” and not “Robin Hood.” I don’t think James would have looked too good in green leotards.

One Of My Best Friends takes the oath of office today up in Austin. Congratulations Carol Alvarado!

Speaking of, the Tom Craddick Era officially comes to an end today – whew! That fella - who I haven’t said hello to since 1985 - has given me a lot of headaches the last few years. The conspiracy theorists have been all over my arse about him. They always thought ‘Ol Tom was one of my clients – huh! One would have thought ‘Ol Tom was sharing an office here. I’m sure all of Commentary’s delusional fans will create another client for me. Next time I’ll react differently. I’ll name my accuser and make-up something about them. You know, give them a taste of their own medicine so stay tuned.

The Rocket’s legal fees are fixing to - pardon the pun - skyrocket.

The ‘Stros gave Joe Green Valley a pay raise for this season and that’s all I have from The Yard.
