Searching For A Superintendent

The Working Man Hero sent out today’s Chron article on the local teacher union (HFT) saying that HISD ought to just pick the number 2 person at the district and scrap a plan for a national search. Check it out. I don’t know how that will play out with other interested parties. What do parents think? What do African American groups and leaders think? What do Latino groups and leaders think? What does the business community think? It seems like HISD might play it safe and just go on ahead and do a national search. What’s the hurry?

Tony The Tiger told The Olympian adios yesterday. It wasn’t such a Smart Start when you can’t even pimp Fruit Loops or Corn Flakes.

It was refreshing to see The President do a Waco Kid last night when he pulled out both pistolas and came out blazing. I was waiting for him to pull out a doobie then speak in a high pitch voice. Commentary saw an interview with Newt this morning and even he is towing the Rushline – pitiful. It turns out the RNC doesn’t even put out talking points nowadays. They just tell folks where to find Rush on the radio dial. The President ought to just keep firing away until the GOP leaders finally come to the table with hat in hand – period. They had their chance when The President extended the olive branch. Too bad Rush stepped in and snatched it away and stomped on it.

Commentary has to give some major props to Katie Couric who has been banged around the last couple of years. Katie snatched the interview of the year so far. You can see her visit with “Sully” this Sunday evening on “60 Minutes” – cool.

It is eight days until spring training and that’s all I have from The Yard.
