Correction - Sort Of, Silva Dollar

Another respected political pro pointed out to Commentary that we have it wrong on "West Wing" and Matt Santos. Martin Sheen, who plays President Josiah Bartlett, was born with the name Ramon Estevez - remember Emilio is his son. Ramon, errr Martin's mom is Irish, his dad is a Spaniard - uh, from Spain. So he's not a Latino - some think. Martin's a Spaniard playing an Anglo U.S. president. Can't quite figure that out. Your last name can be Garcia, you live in the U.S., but if your origins are from the other side of the Atlantic, some do not consider you a Latino. Need to 'splain that one to myself.

Speaking of Latinos, errr Hispanics. Ran into comedian Carlos Silva the other day. We got to talking about the Latino/Hispanic name deal. He says he never uses the term Hispanic. His reason: there is panic in Hispanic. Silva is a Houston North Sider that is making it big in Hollywood. Check him out at   www.silvadollar.com.
