Imus In Appomattox

Commentary never listens to Imus – period! I don’t even know where he can be heard in H-Town. I’ve always thought the guy was an a__hole. Hey, he proved me right. I think it’s time for him to hang up his microphone. Now he’s begging for his job – move over Kramer. Next thing we know he’ll be checking into rehab, or going to Racists Anonymous and saying something like – “Hi, I’m Imus and I’m a racist …..” This is pitiful.

I bet Imus doesn’t know General Robert E. Lee surrendered to General Ulysses S. Grant 142 years ago today.

Fewer Latinos are showing up at immigrant rights rallies across America nowadays. This has a number of Latino leaders puzzled. Hey, don’t sell yesterday’s marchers short. They got off of their arses last year and made their point. It freaked out a lot of America. The immigration issue ended up backfiring on the GOP in last year’s election. Now they are back at work. Latino leaders need to now roll up their sleeves and wage a massive campaign to engage more Latinos in the political process. So far, nothing is happening on a national scale, or for that matter, on a local scale.

Speaking of the local level, the former Texans’ #1 draft choice signed with another NFL team to be a back-up QB….tsk, tsk, tsk.

42 years ago today, the Astros played the Yankees in the first ever game played under a roof as the Astrodome opened. Now some folks want to turn the Dome into a $450 million tourist attraction. Some want to turn it into a parking lot.

Speaking of the yard, the ‘Stros don’t have bad players. They’re just playing badly.
